Guelph ranked the 3rd best place for Millennials to live!

Guelph ranked the 3rd best place for Millennials to Live!

Point2 Homes, the Real estate portal, compared 85 of the most populous cities in Canada to come up with a list of the best & worst cities for Millennials (Age – 18-34). It was based on home affordability, income, unemployment rate, crime rate, life satisfaction, health care, climate, level of education and the percentage of millennials of the total population.

Guelph ranked 3rd place after Quebec City, QC & Victoria, BC. Guelph has many appealing features for younger generations. It is home to a highly rated University, has plenty of bars & great restaurants, offers lots of beautiful parks & walking trails, is in close proximity to Toronto & is affordable!

“Compared to neighbouring Toronto, Guelph presents itself as a great alternative for millennials looking to settle down. While in Toronto the yearly income for millennials is only $67,880 and a home sells for $818,201, in Guelph a house costs less than half that ($406,800), and the yearly income ($82,910) is considerably higher – even higher than the Canadian benchmark of $79,660”

As for Canada’s largest cities: Montreal was placed at 38, Toronto at 24 and Vancouver took the 10th place.  Affordability being one of the main negative factors for these cities!
