Despite Guelph being a small town there is still lots of things to do here in Guelph.
So If you are looking for something for you & bae to do, look no further! Or if your riding solo this Valentine season call up a friend and try out one of these date spots in Guelph!
1. You can take your special someone skating at one of the many ice rinks in Guelph.
You can look up rinks here. Don’t worry if you don’t have skates you can rent them for cheap here ($10 for an hour, $12 for 2 hours). I personally like the Skating rink in front of City Hall. It’s pretty and has a good location close to lots of great restaurants.
2. After working up an appetite from all the skating you can enjoy one of the local restaurants downtown Guelph has to offer. Some recommendations:
- La Cucina – If you would rather be warm inside and watch people skate…this restaurant is perfect since it is located right beside City Hall with a view of the rink. You can enjoy some delicious Italian cuisine in this quaint restaurant while enjoying the view of people skating.
- Atmosphere – or you could head over to Atmospheres which is right across from the skating rink. I recommend the cheese and wine flight, cause how can you go wrong with cheese & wine? Three types of wine paired with different cheeses.
3. Guelph lake has beautiful walking trails.
Bundle up, take your dog (or steal a friends if you don’t have one) and enjoy the great outdoors with your special someone. Click here for a map of the Guelph Lake walking trails.
4. If you are more about relaxation and being pampered, you could hit up a spa and do a couples package. Here are some Spa’s in Guelph that offer packages:
The Couples Spa Package Includes:
*Each of you will enjoy the following together*
Express Organic Facial Treatment
1/2 Hour Relaxation Massage
Spa Pedicure
2 1/2 Hour Couples Spa Package $380
Le Petite Spa Couples Interlude – In Our enchanting loft
-Side by side aromatherapy massage
-Kamins Balancing Facial
Per couple $260
5. If you want to go a little outside of Guelph…we recommend heading to Puslinch and going to the Old Marina Restaurant for some good food & an even better view of the lake.
We may be a little bias to this one because we live right across the lake from the restaurant. But for those of you who have never heard of it, you must give it a try! And don’t worry if your date is boring, there is plenty of entertainment watching people snow shoeing, kite sailing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and biking (I don’t know why…but people do) on the lake. There are also tons of trails around the restaurant that are beautiful in the winter. Click here for a trial map.
Hope you and your special someone try out some of these date spots in Guelph. Happy Valentines!
