Yes, it makes changes:
• Non-payment notice cut to 7 days
• 50% of arrears required to raise certain defences
• Eviction appeal window cut to 15 days
• Some own-use cases no longer require one month’s compensation

But the real problem remains: Landlord and Tenant Board delays. Without guaranteed timelines, evictions can still take months.

Tenants can also stall a sale at the last minute, forcing sellers into cash-for-keys just to protect their deal. Bill 60 doesn’t fix that.

Two simple changes would make a real difference:
• Firm deadlines for challenges
• A 60-day hearing cap

Until then, this is just a surface-level fix.
