This is one of the most sought-after areas in Guelph, and it’s personally one of my favourites because I’ve lived here for most of my life. As you can probably guess, one of the best features about the Exhibition Park neighbourhood is its massive park.  Exhibition Park is one of the largest parks in the whole city of Guelph, and it’s an extremely active place. You’ve got tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a football field, a huge playground, and an indoor arena. There’s always something going on when living in Exhibition Park.

It’s centrally located within the neighbourhood, and truly the heart of the community. One of my favourite things about the Exhibition Park area is all of the beautiful architecture and the mature trees. When you walk down the streets, there’s a huge array of different-sized century homes, and no house looks the same as the other. There’s nothing cookie-cutter about the houses in this neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood also has a great location. You’re within walking distance to the downtown core, which has tons of independent restaurants, shops, and great nightlife. I love walking into town and enjoy dinner at  Mijidda, Baker Street Station, or Buon Gusto. You’re within walking distance also to the GO train, making the neighbourhood really commuter-friendly. They are currently building a  high-speed railway that will you from Guelph to Pearson Airport in 23 minutes, and to Toronto Union in 39 minutes. They are aiming to complete this in 2025.

The one thing that you wouldn’t notice about the Exhibition Park area unless you lived here, is that it’s a great community with really friendly neighbours. A lot of the streets will have block parties or Christmas parties every year, and all of the neighbours know each other. It’s really a fantastic place to live.

It’s a very dog-friendly neighbourhood. You’ll constantly see people walking their dogs around the area, and the park is the perfect place for a dog playdate.

The school is  Victory Public School, which is one of the best-rated elementary schools in the entire city. Overall, the neighbourhood is great for young couples, young families, mature families, as well as downsizers.

Living in Exhibition Park really has something for everybody.
