Market Update For August
We experienced a little bit of a slowdown in August with fewer sales than July. This is common since a lot of people are away on holidays. Now that the kids are back in school the market has already picked back up. We are currently in a very strong sellers’ market with only 1 months’ worth of inventory. Houses are selling quickly and for on average are selling for 100% of asking price. Many houses are going to multiple offers and they are selling for more over asking price than ever before ($50,000+ over asking is happening quite often right now). We are expecting for the market to remain strong through September and October with things slowing down in November and December. If you are thinking of selling this year then this is the perfect time to do it. Sell in the hot fall market with a long closing and purchase in the slower winter market when you can negotiate the best deal!
