📉 GDP fell 1.6% annualized in Q2
👔 65,500 jobs lost in August (Ontario unemployment now 7.7% — highest in nearly a decade outside the pandemic)
💸 Inflation edged up slightly to 1.9%, but core inflation eased

With weaker growth + easing inflation, the Bank of Canada cut rates by 0.25% to 2.50% — the first cut since March. More cuts could be coming before year-end.
